Last spring I worked with a team of eight fourth and fifth graders to create a book trailer for Phil Bildner's book The Hallelujah Flight. This fall the book trailer was selected as a finalist for the School Library Journal Trailee Awards! The purpose of the award is to "recognize those videos (and the individuals that created them) that do the best job of promoting books and bringing readers and books together." There are six different categories based on the age of the creators and the intended audience. The book trailer my students created is one of four finalists in the Student Created for Elementary Readers (PreK - 6) category. The public is invited to vote for their favorites until December 16th, and the winners will be announced in January.
Please take a moment to watch the nominated book trailers at the link below and vote for us!
